Talented and passionate; Barbara has been lovingly creating custom jewelry and making lifelong clients along the way. Since she was a young girl, Barbara always knew she wanted to be an artist… in her free time, she continues to use her creative talents drawing and watercolor painting. She loves living in Florida – in her downtime, she can be found at the beach; breathing the salt air and enjoying the sunshine.As the sun goes down, she can be found supporting local bands and enjoying the live local music scene. Colleagues describe her as passionate, knowledgeable, silly and fair.

While attending Glen Ridge High School in Glen Ridge, N.J. she took a jewelry class, after that she knew she wanted to be a jeweler! After moving to South Florida in 1976, Barb apprenticed as a jeweler for several years. She then opened a jewelry repair business in 1980 doing repairs, ring sizing and pearl stringing for several other jewelers. In 1981, Barb launched Barbara Aridas Designs at her present location in Delray Beach, Fl.

Barbara Aridas Designs (BAD) enjoys a word-of-mouth customer base, as the shop is “off the beaten” path. BAD customers are mostly known by first name, as they are repeat customers who have done business with Barb for many years. Barb’s customers are multi-generational, as many of the children of her first customers are now buying jewelry for their children!!!
